Driving the Square Mile and the Wharf
The financial districts are the hardest part of London to drive well — not because of distance, but because of access. Most of the work happens before the engine starts.
Between Bank, Liverpool Street and Bishopsgate, the constraint is kerb space. Bank Junction is closed to most traffic on weekdays, Cheapside and Poultry are heavily restricted, and Gracechurch Street backs up from mid-afternoon. We plan drop-offs at nearby side streets your building actually permits, and tell you the walking route in the confirmation rather than at the barrier.
Canary Wharf behaves differently again. Most towers route arrivals through underground or controlled service levels, and security will refuse an unregistered vehicle. For account clients we pre-register plates with One Canada Square, the Cabot Place estate and the Wood Wharf buildings so a chauffeur can pull straight in.
Evening work is its own pattern: theatre and restaurant collections in the City clear quickly, but Friday departures from the Wharf towards the A13 and Limehouse Link are best timed either before 17:15 or after 19:00. We build that into the quote instead of charging you for the wait.
